Dare to Double Dip!
Well, I am posting right away for this week's Color Dare: Soft Suede, Night of Navy, and Pear Pizazz. I double dipped my challenges by combining it with today's sketch challenge on splitcoaststampers. When I saw the colors Riley picked, I knew I was going to make a masculine card. I need to do that more often! This card is long overdue! I'll be giving it to a good friend from church who helped me with a couple of big events recently. I think he'll like it...I'm pretty sure his wife will! I've been trying to recruit her for my club! She recently retired and needs a new hobby! LOL!!
I started with a soft suede card base, then added a layer of the Presto Patterns Specialty paper, brayered with the navy and pear colors. The middle strip is also suede, run through my paper crimper for added texture. The sentiment and images are from Day of Gratitude, found in the Holiday Mini. I sponged the edges with the soft suede, used my 2-1/2 inch scallop circle punch, and popped it up with dimensionals. I actually stamped the leaves and acorns on the inside as well...with the tiny "Thank You" that you see peeking out. For accessories, I added my new pear pizazz twill ribbon, and designer buttons from the regal collection (garden green), with a bit of twine.
I like how this turned out...and it was quick! Great colors, great sketch, and Stampin' Up goodies make for fun creations in no time!
