Hello everyone! It is October...which means it is time for Hope You Can Cling To over at Splitcoaststampers! This is a series of challenges for a card drive to encourage cancer patients and their families. While the primary focus is for cards to go to MD Anderson in Texas, you can also donate cards to a cancer facility near you...or of course to people you know personally. Learn more in these chat and challenge threads at SCS.
As a hostess, I got access to the challenges early, and helped to make some samples. Good thing I got an early start, because October is going to be very busy for me!
Dina has a challenge today called "Lend a Hand." It's similar to a VSN challenge I hosted this summer. We were asked to use a hand image, trace our hand, or use our hand to add color. My card base is bravo burgundy, with layers of more mustard and very vanilla. I chose to add drops of ink to some shimmer paint, then use my index finger and thumbnail to create this scene. The inks I used were bravo burgundy, more mustard, and always artichoke. I stamped the stems and greeting from "Field Flowers" with always artichoke. There is just a touch of bordering blue sponged in the sky. Mustard buttons with bakers twine finish it off.
This was a bit messy to make, but so much fun! Join us...there are different challenges every day!

Fabulous, Kim! So soft and serene - like looking into the flower garden, and being grateful for all :) What a great cause!

ReplyDeleteLovely card and a really cool theme for October! I have been struggling to get back into crafting... my inspiration has gone south for the winter I think.. maybe I just need a good challenge. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I would not have guessed you did not stamp this- your fingerprints are all so even- mine would be all wonky I think! Fab scene : ) I love this challenge and have a cancer center close by that I will send cards to.
