Hello Stamping Friends!
It has been quite a while since I have posted. Lots of non stamping things going on in my life these days. My mom broke her hip in early November, and needed a partial hip replacement. She lives in South Carolina, I live in Illinois. My husband had two surgeries for kidney stones in November, so I couldn't rush down to see mom. After Thanksgiving, my brother Mark & I went to SC for a few days to work around mom's house while she is in rehab. Meanwhile, I was doing some writing and studying. I had a column published in our diocesan newspaper, and I made my temporary profession as a Lay Dominican! I realize that might not make sense to some of you, but it's a pretty big deal. I'm quite excited about it!
So, when I got home from SC, I checked out some of my favorite blogs...and I saw the announcement that Colour Me...! is closing up shop. BooHoo! I found them last summer, and tried to do all of last year's challenges...came very close. I did several this year too. So I found my mojo under an exhausted pile of projects and made this wintry birthday card. I am also submitting this for The Paper Players challenge "Let it Snow."
I used the thick white card stock from SU for my base. I generously sponged soft sky ink directly onto the front. It's such a light color, I had to keep adding more ink. This piece of glimmer paper already had the snowflake cut out from a previous project. I trimmed it down, then popped it up with dimensionals. The bakers twine is actually pool party...close enough. The sentiment is from SU's "On Your Birthday" stamped in soft sky, punched with a scallop oval, and lightly sponged. Clean and Simple...and sparkly!
I'm going to miss the gals at Colour Me, but I know that sometimes life takes us in different directions with new projects. Since I saved badges from previous challenges, I may still try to finish them up. Last year I caught up by making Christmas cards with several unique colors! Stay tuned...

What a big, bold, beautiful die cut! Love that glittery paper to bits! And I'm with you on Pool Party being close enough to Soft Sky. I find so many new colors like that. They appear different as far as cardstock goes, but when stamped, there's not much difference. What they need is a Real Red that doesn't smudge ;). Thanks so much for playing along with our last challenge at Colour Me...!
ReplyDeleteLove this icy blue snowflake showing through your glittery negative die! So very pretty, Kim!
ReplyDeleteWow - what a fabulous glittery snowflake card! I love how you used the negative space for your colour and really allowed the glimmer to take centre stage. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!
