Another Monday Post!

Hello Again!  TWO posts in one day!!

I set a goal to complete all of the 2015 sketch challenges from  both SCS and Freshly Made Sketches.  Well, I am very far behind at FMS...so instead of falling further behind, I threw this card together quickly.  I will likely tweak the design a bit, because I like it overall...but the embellishments?  Hmmm, not so much!  I combined it with this fabulous spring color palette from the ColourQ.  I posted it to the Freshly Made Sketches blog within seconds of the deadline!  Go Me!  haha

Seriously, I do find my creative juices flow with these challenges...but even more so when I have just an hour to complete them.  It's as if I am in perpetual Virtual Stamp Night mode!

My card base is blushing bride.  The next layer is more of the "Irresistibly Yours" paper from SU.  I sponged the pool party and old olive over the leaf pattern.  I was thrilled to actually have a piece of pale plum in with my perfect plum card stock (saved me time!). My sentiment is from SU's "Well-Scripted" and the flower is from "Friends Never Fade."  I colored the flower with markers: old olive, so saffron, pale plum, and perfect plum.  After rounding the corners, I sponge the edges of the whisper white just a bit.  Finally, I added some blushing bride pleated ribbon and a big designer button.  I wish I used a smaller button...but I didn't want to dig in my button box!  Looks like this will be a hand-delivered card!

Finding a clear spot to take a picture on time was a bit tricky...let's just say that I did a quick swoosh on one end of this table!  And I did the write-up after I linked up my card to FMS.  Now, I can link up to the ColourQ in an almost relaxed mode! heehee!

It's Clearly Time for a Mashup!

Hello, and Happy Friday!!

It was so AMAZING to see all of the entries for the Friday Mashup #200 over the last two weeks!  Congratulations to all of the prize winners!  You can check out who they are (maybe You!) on this post.

This week, Amy has a fun challenge for us.  We can either

• use the colors Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate and Pacific Point...
• or we can use a clear element, such as vellum or acetate...
• or we can Mashup!

Of course, I chose the Mashup!

I have been having fun with my Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack, which I received with my recent Sale-a-Bration order.  I had avoided vellum for years, but when you get it for free, you have to try it out all over again!

My card base is smoky slate.  I used my labels framelits to cut out a window.  After choosing one of the vellum patterns, I colored the back side with a razzleberry marker, plus I sponged some pacific point ink in for the sky.  I used my heat gun, very gently, to heat set the color, then adhered it to the inside of my card.  I used a sentiment from "Because I Care" and paired it with my oval and decorative label punches.  Next, I added some taffeta ribbon, a small button, and a non-SU rhinestone flower for embellishment.  I love this ribbon..but it's tough to tie!  I consider it a bit of physical therapy!  The final details are tiny dots around the window, made with my razzleberry and pacific point markers.

Hello Stamping Friends!

Life is crazy...and that means my blog gets ignored.  Sigh!  Frankly, my stamps have been ignored too!  But recently I completed 4 SCS Inspiration Challenges in one day!  It was a lot of fun...and I managed to get them uploaded on my SCS gallery, but not here.  So I am just going to do a quick write up...

The first inspiration challenge had lots of beautiful carved items, wood tones with some portions painted white.  I used this piece of retired creamy caramel, white craft ink, and the Just Believe stamp set as main highlights.  The wood grain embossing folder, lace trim and butterfly embosslit add some details...and let's not forget Teeny Tiny Wishes!









The next challenge had us look at photographs from major cities around the world. I was inspired by a photo of the fabulous Ferris wheel on Chicago's Navy Pier.  I used this Sentimental stamp set from Sale-a-bration (which has 3 wonderful vintage images) and The Open Sea to make my own pattern paper on a piece cut out with the top note die.   I added some baker's twine and striped ribbon, with On Your Birthday again.  The colors are night of navy, cherry cobbler, and soft suede.  The card also works for a recent sketch challenge.






My third card was tricky, but fun to make.  The inspiration site had lots of fabulous fabric and accessories.  I was inspired by this piece.  I have a cajun craze card base, used Paisley Petals stamp set, and went to town with blender pens.  Not exactly what I envisioned, but overall, I like it!  The black satin ribbon adds some drama, and the sentiment (Blessings from Heaven) softens things up.

My final card for this post is a quick, CAS card.  I was inspired by a cute tote...which I cannot link now because it sold out!  LOL.  It was woven, simple color block with reddish-brown leather straps.  *wink*  My card is crumb cake, pacific point, touches of cajun craze and vanilla.  The sentiment is Thank You Kindly.  My ribbon is retired dusty durango, hiding the polka dot side.  The large brads are from a craft store.

Late for the Mash-up!

Hello Friends!

So this was a Friday Mashup challenge, which I completed "on time" but never uploaded.  In fact, I am uploading it hear LATER than this post indicates.  I don't mean to bear false witness...just trying to catch up on some blogging without jamming up my posts!  Holly had a triple challenge... 1) use you brayer (I brayered various colors over my new embossing folder I got with my SU Sale-a-Bration order) 2) use butterflies (I used my favorite embosslits to make this batch) and 3) use the sketch she  presented...which was a simple array of butterflies and a sentiment.  Ta-dah!  I added bashful blue satin ribbon and basic rhinestones.  My card base is confetti white, as is the embossed layer.  The sentiment is from On Your Birthday, on a scalloped oval.  The colors...daffodil delight, certainly celery, and bashful blue were for a SCS color challenge.

Quick...easy...and very fun!

Love Fest!!

Hello Friends

Splitcoaststampers held a new series of challenges for 11 days this month, called "Love Fest".  I did all of the challenges over the weekend...but have yet to blog any...so here goes!!  (I am just making BRIEF descriptions... too much to type otherwise!)

The first challenge called for items spelling LOVE.  I used Lilac card stock, Oval die cut, Vintage style, and Embossing (dry and heat).  The main image is from Elements of Style.
 

The second challenge:  A sketch challenge here...but I flipped it.  More retired dsp here.  In fact, all of the dsp I used in Love Fest was retired...as were many of the accessories.

The third challenge:  Add some Bling!  Rhinestones and my fave stamp "You're a Gem" went perfectly with this theme.  I love the Mixed Bunch stamps too! The colors also met a past color challenge.











The fourth challenge:  Make a card with a non-traditional fold.  I made an easel card, featuring this flower garden embossing folder and a new sale-bration button.

And the fifth challenge:  Use any dies...I used my sizzix stars, so I could have different sizes.  LOTS of retired products too...woohoo!


I used several punches and ribbons throughout.  I will post the other challenges later on.

Friday Mashup! Luck of the Irish!

Hello Stamping Friends!! It's Friday...WooHoo! I have had an intense week at work, so I a sooooooooooo ready for the weekend! I am doing a Stampin' Up workshop tomorrow, which will be a fun change of pace. In the meantime, it's time for another Friday Mashup challenge...and Rita is the hostess with the mostest! The theme is perfect for March, and truly perfect for ths little Irish gal! Hope you play along!

I went back and forth in this challenge. I have 2 customers who have birthdays on March 17th, so I figure a birthday card would be good. Then there was this funky color challenge on splitcoaststampers. I decided to Mash it all up!!

I started with a river rock card base. My verse, the famous Irish blessing, is from another stamp company (Our Daily Bread Designs.) I stamped it in basic black on very vanilla. Next, I punched out 4 hearts, placed them down with dotto (temporary adhesive) and sponged all around with river rock ink, then garden green ink. I nearly forgot a stem...but it's barely there! I added this delicate ribbon in lucky limeade (FREE Sale-a-Bration goodie!). The sentiment is from On Your Birthday, in lucky limeade, mounted on very vanilla and garden green in the familiar duo of the word window and modern label punches. That's it...very quick, clean, and simple!

Tea for Jenna

Hello again! I am posting 2 more cards made with my new Tea Shoppe stamp set. The first one will be the Make-n-Take project for this wekend's workshop. Funny thing is, I have only done events in my home. Club, play days...but my young stampin' friend is anxious to earn some FREE Sale-a-Bration goodies! So, I'm taking my stash on the road!

Frankly, I hope the card isn't too much for a workshop. I often forget how much I am familiar with my tools and design ideas compared to new stampers. But with coordinated colors, I think we'll be just fine! This card has a poppy parade card base. I added a layer of Everyday Enchantment dsp (FREE SAB item!) I inked this lovely tea cup in peach parfait, then used the rock-n-roll technique to add poppy parade ink, then stamped on very vanilla card stock. I mounted it on peach parfait. I stamped the sentiment in soft suede ink, punched out with the scallop square, and sponged with more peach, and popped up withh dimensionals. Finally, I added some SAB ribbon...love this stuff!!

My next card uses the same stamp set, ribbon, and dsp. I colored the tea cups with markers for this one (poppy parade, calypso coral, peach parfait), and the sentiment fits perfectly in the modern label punch. The words are stamped in lucky limeade; the frame is a separate stamp in poppy parade. Soft suede card stock replaces the peach parfait, and I added fun SAB brad.

I am really liking this Tea Shoppe set! Then again, I love tea! (Drinking Bigelow's Lemon Lift as we speak!) Hope this weekend's customers like it too!

Playing with Tea Cups

Hello everyone! I finally had time to play with a new fabulous Stampin' Up set called "Tea Shoppe" from the Occassions Mini Catalog. I am preparing for a workshop this weekend, and so I have made several samples. I am featuring just 2 here today. One is for the Paper Players challenge seen here: (First, I have to say how excited I am that I was chosen as "A Cut Above" for my Extreme Guitar guy card last week! WooHoo!)

My first card features the new Twitterpated dsp also found in the Stampin' Up mini occassions catalog, mounted on a baja breeze card base. LOTS of lovely patterns! I stamped the tea cups (3 on one stamp) in coordinating colors (indigo island, riding hood red, & baja breeze,) then cut them out to go with the sketch challenge. I hate cutting things out...but a girl's gotta practice, right? Each cup was mounted on a blushing bride circle, mounted on whisper white and indigo island layers. How 'bout this GORGEOUS ribbon?? New pleated ribbon is found in the mini in 4 colors (I have them all now!) and I hope we have more in the future! The sentiment is also from Tea Shoppe, stamped in riding hood red, and used with the word window and modern label punches. Ta-dah!

The next card is quick, clean, and simple! Lucky limeade card base, with a layer of Everyday Enchantment dsp from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. I stamped this large, pretty cup in pool party, then used the rock-n-roll technique to add a bit of limeade ink on very vanilla card stock. I sponged the edges with soft suede ink, and added a SAB brad. The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen,punched out with the circle and popped up with dimensionals. My other embellishments are basic pearls and pool party ruffled ribbon. Hope this card makes someone feel better soon!

Friday Mashup! 46 and Never Been Kissed!!

Never been kissed? Not really! I just wanted to get your attention! Today is Friday, which means it is time for another Friday Mashup challenge! It's not #46, it's actually #47. But I am 46 years old, and the challenge from our fearless blog leader, Holly, involves a new stamping technique for me...Kissing! LOL

Well ladies, I have been happily married for 18 years, so yes I have been kissed quite a bit! But in terms of stamping, I don't believe I have ever used the kissing technique! Good grief! It's so easy, where have I been?? If you haven't tried this technique, here's a quick tutorial from splitcoaststampers. Basically, you ink up a solid image stamp, such as this silhouette image from Stampin' Up's "Upsy Daisy," then, before stamping on paper, you take another stamp with a different color ink and press it on stamp #1. When it goes on the paper, you see 2 colors, and pattern on the soid image.

For my card, I used peach parfait card base, and added some Everyday Enchantment dsp from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. My project isn't round, but I did cut out this scallop circle in very vanilla with my Big Shot. I stamped the grass from Inspired by Nature in lucky limeade. I inked up the daisies with peach parfait, then used the small flower from Vintage Vogue to "kiss" it with poppy parade ink. I repeated the image several times to make a full field of flowers. Next I sponged the bottom with limeade and the top with baja breeze. I stamped a sentiment, also from Upsy Daisey, in poppy parade, punched with the scallop oval, nd sponged with baja breeze. I embellished with baja breeze seam binding and basic jewel pearls in the corners.

Friday Mashup! #43 - Never Be Afraiid to Try Something New!

Hello Stamping Friends! Happy Friday! I am so excited, because this week I am the hostess for the Friday Mashup challenge...WooHoo!! Creating new sketches isn't my strong suit, and when it happens, it's usually by accident! One thing I do like is using diagonal lines and contrasting them with round shapes.

I searched through my old cards (those pictures come in handy!) and found one using this sketch. I believe I had a piece that I had cut incorrectly, but decided to use it any way...Ta-Dah! Now, since the sketch is old, we have to contrast it with some NEW products in our stashes! I hope you got something new for Christmas...or maybe you recently spent money on new purchases. However you got it, let's see some new goodies! So here is your challenge:

1. Make a project using the Sketch shown above


2. Make a project using something NEW in your stash (paper, ribbon, stamps...anything!)


3. Or Mash it Up and make a project using the Sketch and something NEW from your stash!

Now, I was thrilled to take this opportunity to use some of my new Sale-a-Bration items! As a Stampin' Up demo I was able to earn some with my orders in December! Nice perk, huh?! Anywho, this card features several things. I started with a poppy parade card base, because this NEW "Everyday Enchantment" dsp goes with it perfectly! The middle strip is pool party, layered with more of the enchanted dsp, then embossed with my perfect polka dots impressions folder in the big shot. I used my poppy parade and lucky limeade markers to color the NEW image from "Fresh Vintage," another SAB goodie, stamping it on very vanilla. The ovals were cut with the ovals die in the big shot, and the limeade one also has polka dots. Both ovals are lightly sponged with soft suede ink. As if that wasn't enough, the gorgeous organdy ribbon (in calypso coral and lucky limeade) AND the designer brad are also SAB items! WooHoo! Not everything is new...note the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment punched out with the word window. Yup. I'm still rooted in "tradition!" LOL

Love a Double Challenge!

Hello everyone! I am posting AGAIN this week....wow! Nothing like a New Year to get me on the right track! Today I have a card which is well...different...for me at any rate. I combined this week's Freshly Made Sketch challenge with a very tricky ColourQ challenge. I think "tweens" when I look at the colors, but it's been a long time since I have been a tween! LOL!! But I wanted to try some blog challenges just for fun, and this is my end result. I believe that writing up a blog post with 2 challenge icons is a real trick...so we'll see how often I do this! LOL!!

All of the products used are from Stampin' Up, though some are retired.I don't have any Going Gray ink or card stock, so I used Basic Gray for my card base. I added horizontal strips of pretty in pink card stock with some long-ago retired "ribbon originals." The melon mambo layer is a piece from last year's Sale-a-Bration catalog. Just want this to prompt you to check out this year's SAB items... *wink*. I stamped I {Heart} Hearts in the challenge colors on whisper white card stock. I used my scallop trim border punch to coordinate with the scallop design on the dsp. Finally, I added a pretty in pink heart stamped with Well Scripted in basic gray. Truth be told...it covers up an unfortunate smudge! Shhhhhhhhh...don't tell anyone!!

Happy Featured Stamper!

I told you I'd be right back!! *wink*

Today's Featured Stamper challenge led me to another new gallery...Elaine, aka Quixotic. She has a lot of very nice detailed cards, but shucks I was tired! I needed something Clean and Simple! LOL! This card fit the bill perfectly! I used daffodil delight for my card base, and added a layer of Ice Cream Parlor dsp...available only through THIS Thursday for Sale-a-Bration! I stamped "happy" from Define Your Life in pacific point, and mounted it on pacific point card stock. Just a touch of pumpkin pie taffeta ribbon was added. Finally, I used 2 Ice Cream Parlor buttons. I did not add thread...then they looked bare (gasp!) so I stuck pearls in the center!

I made another card featuring melon mambo instead of pacific point. With the word "happy" I could use these for LOTS of occasions!

Sale-a-Bration is Almost Over!

Hello Stamping Friends!

Today was a slow day for me...wasn't feeling great. Oh well, at least I made one card!

My Sale-a-Bration items were within reach, and I needed some bright cheery colors. Today's sketch challenge on SCS was a challenge indeed, but I had fun with it!

My card base is pacific point, and I added layers of daffodil delight, old olive,whisper white and melon mambo. Several layers were sent through my Big Shot with the perfect polka dot impressions folder. The DSP is called Ice Cream Parlor, and is available for FREE if you get $50 in merchandise before March 31st. Just click on my site for more details. The ribbon and button are also available as a nice accessory set (buttons come in daffodil,melon, and pacific point).

My stamp is retired, from Graceful Words. We give cards to our volunteers at the ministry, acknowledging their time and talent is a blessing to us! I used my bird punch to add the final detail.

It is definitely a BRIGHT card...but sometimes you gotta brighten things up!

Ice Cream Parlor Magnets!

I mentioned on Sunday that we played with the magnet sheets and my Big Shot last weekend. Oh. My. Goodness! What fun!! I wasn't sure if my little hands could get the material through the Big Shot, but it was a breeze! (Note...the watermark uses my name, but these are original designs by these girls!)

I used the scallop square Sizzix die, which makes 2 different sizes. We also ran some DSP from the Sale-a-Bration "Ice Cream Parlor" collection. Some of the die cuts were also used, along with buttons and ribbon from a separate SAB item.

Now, in the first magnet, Jenna used Ice Cream Parlor DSP, but used the Mini Occasion Catalog Set, Eat Chocolate. She colored the image with Stampin' Write Markers, and punched it out with the large decorative label punch. A big button from the Sew Sweet collection finishes it off.



Her smaller magnet uses the other side of that Ice Cream Parlor dsp, and the image is from Morning Cup, which you can find in the regular Idea Book & Catalog (IBC). Markers came in handy again, as did a little dimensional!




Lauren also made 2 cute magnets. She used the Ice Cream Parlor dsp and die cuts for the large magnet, and stamps from Cute by the Inch (Hostess Level 2 set) and Hello Again (available as a free Sale-a-Bration set). I love how she colored with markers, and added one tiny button from the Ice Cream Parlor collection.

Now check out her next one...those dots behind the cupcake (Also from Cute by the Inch) are hand colored!! I am serious! She took the markers and painstakingly colored the polka dotted background! I don't know about you, but I am impressed!! Love the ribbon detail too!











Finally, my own magnets. The picture was taken a different day in a different space. Oh well! I also used the Ice Cream Parlor dsp, and buttons, and ribbon! My large magnet uses a retired stamp (from Best Yet) and my small magnet uses a stamp from You're a Gem, found in the Occasions Mini.


Tomorrow night is my bi-monthly club. We'll also make magnets, but some other projects as well. I'll be posting those this weekend!

Perfectly Tempting Daffodils

Hi Friends! More from my Stampin' Sleepover.

I encouraged the girls to come up with their own color challenge. They were initially stumped, but then came up with some lovely spring ideas! Today, I'll feature Lauren's combo: Perfect Plum, Tempting Turquoise,and Daffodil Delight.

The pictures are a little off...Bruce, aka photographer and hubby, was gone when we made these cards. The lighting around noon on a cloudy day wasn't great...but you'll get the idea! Oh, another note: my watermark indicates I made these,but the girls really did. I don't have time to adjust my watermark (can barely remember how!)

Since Lauren came up with the colors, I'll show hers first: Wow! I love how she embossed the lower panel of plum with the vintage wallpaper impressions folder, and used a few rhinestone jewels for a touch of bling. She wasn't sure what image to use, but when she saw this great stamp from All Holidays, it was perfect! The ticket corner punch adds a nice detail. SU markers were used to color the different words. The top half features Greenhouse Gala DSP. She added some daffodil satin ribbon and a non-SU ribbon to finish off the card.

Jenna decided to CASE a card I made with the Sale-a-Bration set "Bliss." She helped me clear some stash,as she used a retired striped grosgrain ribbon, and polka dot turquoise dsp from last summer's Tropical Party. She stamped the butterfly and flower, then added some pearl basic jewels. Love these things! She decided to use a plain layer of daffodil (not patterned) so the polka dots on the turquoise would stand out more. Smart girl! This card just make me wish for spring even more!


Finally...my card. Since the girls had chosen plum and turquoise card bases, I went with daffodil. I just got this stamp set, Morning Cup, and decided to play. I embossed the white layer with the square lattice folder, and added a layer of Greenhouse Gala DSP on the outside and inside. I used my markers to color the tea cups, which were stamped with stazon ink. The image was punched out with the large decorative label punch, and another piece of turquoise also punched out. I cut out the middle, then attached the side pieces on the back (great tip from Mary Fish's blog.)The sentiment was tiny, so I actually cut of the ends of the word window and modern label punches. I added brads from the bright collection, as well as daffodil and turquoise (retired) ribbon. Hope you like it!

Dare to Share a Dare!

More from this weekend's Stampin' Sleepover!

As I mentioned, we started with Riley's Color Dare...basic gray,marina mist, and cherry cobbler. I made a baby card to take to the Clinic...it is a CASE of a card I made for a swap last year. I love this little monkey from Fox and Friends! The sentiment is rarely used in my house, but it is from the famous Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used the circle die to make various sizes, then ran most of them through my Big Shot with the perfect polka dot impressions folder. A few silver brads and the corner rounder punch finish it off.



Lauren loves birds, so she enjoyed using the Aviary stamp set. We all felt sorry for the owl...what's he doing in this set? Owls don't belong in bird cages! LOL!! Any way, as she chose the taller bird cage, stamped in Stazon Black, we wondered what to use to accent it. Well, I just bought the 2 Tags Big Shot die...perfect! The patterned paper stacks were used for the other layers. The sentiment is from "Hello Again" which is available through Sale-a-Bration with a $50 order. She used my scallop trim punch and just a touch of retired riding hood red ribbon to finish off this fantastic card.

Jenna saw one of my cards and decided to CASE it...and she did it with flair! I love this Clean and Simple design, leaving out several "extras" I had used. She used the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder, and punched out a large scallop circle. She stamped the sentiment from "You're a Gem", which is available from the Occasions Mini Catalog on a 1-3/8" circle. A Fire brad adds just a touch of red to complete the color challenge. Fun!

Almost forgot...the girls also used some dimensionals. I have taught them well!!

Featured Colors

Hello Again!



Sunday is Featured Stamper day on SCS, and I made this card that afternoon. Uploading...well, that has taken quite a while!! The Featured Stamper is Charlene (aka Willow01) and this is the card I CASE'd. I kept the same sketch, using dsp on top,as well. My sentiment (from Elements of Style) is in a similarly shaped layer, (I used my extra large decorative label punch), but I added a regal button instead of ribbon. Instead of the large felt flowers, I stamped my flowers, but I did keep the (basic jewels ) pearls on the card. My flowers are from the Sale-a-Bration set "Bliss." My color choices were dictated by last week's Color Challenge...not quite navy, cajun craze,and daffodil delight. The dsp is from Greenhouse Gala.

Color and Throwdown a Sketch!

Happy Wednesday! I went to a different color challenge blog today...the Color Throwdown, this week featuring pear pizazz, kraft (crumb cake) and blushing bride. I have peeked at it frequently, but this is the first time I participated. I combined it with the Sketch Challenge on splitcoaststampers. I pulled out my new SU set, "Bliss" which is available through Sale-a-Bration. Just order $50 in Stampin' Up product from January 25 - March 31, and you can choose this set, or one of many other sets or special SAB accessories.

The base is crumb cake, and I used pear and blushing bride pattern paper from the Hostess pack. I love the cotton twill ribbon, just had to choose which color to use! I stamped two of the images from Bliss on very vanilla card stock, and another one in crumb cake to leave a watermark on one side. My usual sentiment set up fit perfectly with this sketch. Finally, I added some pearls for a final feminine touch.

Dare to Try Again!

This week's Color Dare is bright and summery...a great diversion from the cold of January! I made one card...and it was like a snowball rolling down a hill! Stop! Too much!! LOL!! So, I tried again, and I am happier with the results. I thought about making one more attempt...but with two 12th Day of Christmas parties this weekend, there was no time.

The Color Dare assigned us tempting turquoise, tangerine tango and pear pizazz. I had some retired tangerine ribbon which I really want to use up. On the new side, I have this adorable Stampin Up! set called Aviary. It had not seen ink yet, so I pulled it out for a debut. It is quite a cute set! My extra large scallop punch and Circles big shot die came in handy. The card base is tempting turquoise, and I added some pear pizazz pattern paper from the Hostess Level 1 pack. I ran some whisper white through the Big Shot with perfect polka dots...but just part way, so I could stamp the sentiment. This cute 'hello' is from "Hello Again," a set in the Idea Book and Catalog (IBC) but also available soon as a FREE set when you place a $50 Sale-a-Bration Order! Contact me for more details!

Back to the card...since I had already added the ribbon, taped on the back...oops...and I needed more tangerine, I took my marker and outline the white layer. I also added a tiny bit on the bottom of the cage.

Extreme Birthdays!

This weekend, I did more of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges on splitcoaststampers. I did not finish them all...but I think I got 25 out of 33 completed! Pretty good, huh?

Stampin' UP! has some cool silhouette stamps great for teens. I used the 2 that I have: Extreme Guitar and Extreme Snowboard. I got them both FREE last March during Sale-a-Bration, and now I wonder why I waited so long! I plan on getting the others...including Extreme Elements before the end of the year!

Because DTGD challenges are for Fan Club members only, I am not going to post the details. BUT you can sign up for a mere $25 for a full year!

Here is one card: I used Pacific Point for my card base, and a distressed pattern from the Blueberry Crisp DSP. I sponged just a touch of Baja Breeze in the lower right corner, and on the snowflake, cut out with my sizzlit die, which runs through the Big Shot. The Extreme Snowboarder is stamped in Pacific Point, and the sentiment is from On Your Birthday.



Now this next card is one of my favorites from the weekend! I had no idea what I was going to do...then the design kinda "happened." I used Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, and Very Vanilla card stock. I roughly brayered Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Cajun Craze ink over the main panel. Next, I used Night of Navy craft ink and clear embossing powder to highlight the Extreme Guitar image. I used retired stars and a retired sentiment on the "ticket" which I distressed as if it was in a teen's back pocket...then added Teeny Tiny Wishes. 2 brads in the corner finish it off. I have a teen nephew who loves classic rock...this will be for him!
